In a clear crowded but exciting premiere day, we are joining forces with Juniper Purr for the release of his new single “To Use it Well,” a track that moves with a dreamlike melody offering a tempo for a dance in outer space, as it attempts to capture the moment and field of discovery when we depart openly from set patterns in our everyday lives. Perhaps, that is where the real, tangible magic can happen ~ in the form of a catchy psych rock wonderland allowing for Bo Olivieri’s playful vocal delivery to really blossom.
Juniper Purr is the solo project of vocalist, visual artist, and multi instrumentalist Bo Olivieri. Having spent much of his life immersed in the greenery surrounding his childhood home of rural Connecticut before hatching in the mossy grove of Portland OR, Olivieri finds himself elastically connected to the magical power of the natural world. He describes his music as “winding through through hallways of the surreal, up spiral staircases and eventually landing on a balcony overlooking a view of alluring gardens below.” The songs are reflections of journeys taken around the country and across the seas to Europe mixed in a collage of past lives. With his professional background in Visual Art, his lyrics aspire to offer a fictional world to the listener; each song inspiring a painting and creating a soundtrack for a scene.
While playing in local bands around the Pacific Northwest, Brett began creating a catalog of songs and stories based around the adventures of a eclectic group of fictional characters traveling the galaxy in their secondhand ship they call Juniper. Galaxy Radio is based on the first segment of that fictional story when the cast of characters is brought together after being exiled from their planet following The Glass Family’s move into power. With their old world being sucked dry, they leave it in their memories hopefully one day to return. As they begin their journey through the cosmos in search of a new home, a soft buzz from the radio begins to stream through their second hand ship they call Juniper. Galaxy Radio is the name of that radio station accompanying them as they travel to a new world.
Galaxy Radio is out June 7th, 2019 via Godyssey Music.
