Oriion Shares “Ayodele”

Oriion’s ‘nostalgia pop’ is forged from an international wanderlust, the artist’s nomadic reality evident in his music as much of his adult life was spent between LA, NY and Berlin. It was this along with a formative diet of pop icons; Sade, George Michael and Daft Punk among others, which shaped his diverse array of influences that span several decades.

His music has been heralded by such heavyweight tastemakers as CLASH Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, tmrw magazine and Spindle, and has reached an ever-expanding international fanbase, garnering hundreds of thousands of streams.

Following on from Siren Call, Oriion continues down his colourful path with Ayodele (produced by Lindahl); reestablishing himself as a genre-bending, one-of-a-kind talent with a voice and delivery like no other. With nostalgic nods to pop greats of the past and cutting edge boundless pop, Ayodele effortlessly fuses themes of contemporary soul, with neon-fuelled 80s pop for a transcendent foray distinctly his.

Speaking to the motivation behind Ayodele, Oriion shares:

A sound straddling a familiar retro past and a future surpassing time, let Ayodele transport you to your happy place. Journey through the understated melodic euphoria underpinned by the depths of the layered synths, juxtaposed with Oriion’s trademark commanding, yet ethereal, vocals.

Picture yourself on a rooftop, somewhere in LA whilst the sun is about to set. A collective headiness and consciousness abound, that screams with mutual elation and ecstasy. Where one begins and the other ends, time and space transcend. Pure carnal love, lusts and pleasures culminate in a higher state of being. Whether you are with the one or at one with the feeling, morphing into each other, it doesn’t matter. You are out of time, and yet living in the moment. Welcome to Ayodele.
