INTERVIEW: DTG

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Theresa”? Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Primarily what inspired me to write ‘Theresa’ was the last girl I was speaking to at the time. I saw traits in her I really didn’t like throughout talking to her and lying was one of them. With all the BREXIT stuff that was also going on around at the time wrote this as well, I thought I could relate it to Theresa May as she too lies quite a bit.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video? How was the recording and writing process?

The filming process was a bit nerve racking at first as it was my first time filming with a professional Camera Man who I didn’t know prior to that day being Myles Suave. As time went on it started to feel natural and he just directed everything and it flowed smoothly.

What role does South London play in your music?

South London represents struggle. It’s not easy living here and it’s not easy to do enough to live a better life elsewhere so it’s motivational when you see people that do. In my music everything’s about positive changes which is was you hope for as someone living in South London.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Most definitely. I spend most of my days at the studio working on new stuff. As I’m move than an artist and do other things alongside Music so it’s not easy. Regardless, a lot more to come.

Any tentative release date or title in mind? How much into politics will you deep dive into this new material?

New material won’t really involve politics. It was just because it was a trending topic at the time and I had a lot to say.

What other themes will you get to explore on this record?

I often write about Love, Heartbreak, Changes etc. You’ll just have to wait and see

Any plans to hit the road? What else is happening next in DTG’s world?

I have some exciting stuff coming soon. YouTube content coming back bigger and better alongside some Songs I’m looking to spread out across the months. May pick up some other things as well such as a clothing line but all in due time.
