How would you classify your music?
The music is rooted in Blues but my songwriting crosses between, Chicago Blues, Hillbilly, Folk, Southern Rock and Delta Blues.
Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?
James Brown, Son House, Elmore James, The Beatles, Al Green.
What do you want fans to take from your music?
I’d like them to listen to the story telling and feel the passion of the music.
How’s the music scene in your locale?
Not that great, we used to have a lot of great venues and theaters to play but it has died down to smaller clubs and bars.
What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?
When I was very young I saw, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Outlaws and Bill Grahams Winterland
In San Francisco, That’s when I knew what I was destined to do. Play music.
Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why? My personal favorite is Jesus Set Me Free, Its about two brothers on southern side of the America Civil war and what happens to them. I wrote and recorded the song on a three string guitar box and it has a real swampy 1860s hillbilly type sound to it. A really great riff.
How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?
I’m writing recording producing and playing year round nearly every day. I’ve been playing music since I was very young, It’s just part of me, It’s in my blood.
If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
That’s a Hard one, Jimmy Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Son house. So many I don’t really know if there’s just one person.
What’s next for you?
I’m gonna keep working this album “Resonator Blues” and writing material for the next just keep pushing on…
