Back again with another new single, Kurt, Paul & James, the original 80s synthpop innovators Information Society, present “Bennington”, an InSoc-ified cover of an obscure John Maus track… reworked as an homage to InSoc’s Minneapolis hometown Hennington neighborhood. When the members of InSoc were in their twenties, they spent their time on or around Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis, so reworking Bennington to Hennington just seemed to fit nicely. Also, “Bennington” has a weird association with the elite college, even though Maus actually was referring (apparently) to a small town in southern Minnesota. “Bennington” was recorded in November, 2018 at Paul’s Think Tank Studio.
