A) Hi there! Thanks so much for having us, we’ve been great thanks for asking! Yourselves?
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Break Me Down”?
A) Sure! We recorded it literally two or three days before Christmas last year down at The Ranch Production House in Southampton with Neil Kennedy, we released a couple of days ago & have been honestly blown away by the all the great feedback & love we’ve received about it.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
A) Well without naming names it came from a bad place in a previous toxic relationship. The song was born out of the fallout from the end of that relationship & during finding clear headspace realising your own self worth during your processing being defiant that you won’t be broken or brought down.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
A) Well we filmed the video with our friend & amazingly talented Matty Daley from Clearway Media at the start of the year down in Liverpool at Vessel Studios. Matty cane up with the concept & we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
How was the recording and writing process?
A) Well as I said we recorded it down at The Ranch with Neil who’s done all our stuff as well as bands like Creeper, Boston Manor, Trash Boat etc.. We love working with him as it’s such a comfortable atmosphere to create & he always takes the song further than we think possible. The writing process was quite a weird one for us actually as it wasn’t in a practice or together, it was mostly Ethan (Our Vocalist) & Jack (Our Guitarist) who actually sent the rest of the band the song through a video of them playing it on WhatsApp.
How Neck Deep and 1975 has influence your writing?
A) I don’t think any bands in our genre at the minute could say that they’re not influenced in some way by neck deep especially those from the UK. They really helped to open up attention for this music in Britain around the world by being the gateway band to break through. As for the 1975 they’ve just been getting stronger every release and especially we take inspiration from Matty Healy’s lyrical writing & how he’s able to intertwine stories with super personal introspective/existential themes.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
A) We recently finished & wrapped up recording our next release at the start of the month & we are all so excited to share it as it’s definitely the best stuff we’ve written especially after months & months of putting absolutely everything into crafting each song into the best version it could be.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
A) We’ve a couple of names floating around but nothing set in stone yet. As for release it’s probably going to come out late this year/winter or at the very latest early next year but more likely 2019 sometime.
Will you keep tapping on personal relationships or will you be tackling other topics?
A) This next EP is definitely the most personal themes & stuff we’ve written for sure. I think we’ll always continue to take thoughts or ideas from our own personal experiences as obviously it’s fresh in our memories & what we know best. Although I know for sure that we’d love to write with more storytelling involved or on topics that are inspiring us in our music.
Any plans to hit the road?
A) Always! In June we’ll be going on tour with the guys in Elessar & then we’ve got lots of stuff planned for the rest of the summer which we can’t announce just yet,but it’s safe to say we’ll be playing pretty much everywhere in the UK over the next few months.
Elessar- Birmingham 6/6/19
Elessar- Cheltenham 7/6/19
Elessar- London 8/6/19
Elessar- Brighton 9/6/19

What else is happening next in OUT COLD’s world?
A) We’ll be touring a lot through the UK this summer, then we might have a little surprise coming soon before we gear up to start the process of everything towards our next EP.
