We’ve been great! We have been spending a lot of time rehearsing our set and planning for the future of 19machine.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Enough of You”?
So this song originally started out with more of a reggae feel back when we first started writing it last year. Over the course of a few months workshopping it, it slowly evolved into what you hear now. From those distant echoes starting the song and the funky guitar bit at the end of the chorus to lift it up. The song is about the tenacious pursuit of unrequited love. The pure love of something whether that love is good for you or not. About wanting someone that does not treat you right, and you are unable change how your heart feels. The more they distance themselves, the more you want them.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
A new video is in the works right now. We have released a live music video, though.
How was the recording and writing process?
We recorded it at The Bubble in Austin, Texas, with Chris “Frenchie” Smith and his dog Agnus. This song was one of 10 that we recorded there this past winter.
What role does Fort Worth play in your music?
We feel that we are a counter-balance to the country music and metal music that Fort Worth is known for. Aside from our British guitarist Sam, we all grew up in Fort Worth and even went to the same high school – just years apart.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
New material is on the way! We plan to release our second single in June.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
The new song will drop on June 7, 2019.
Any plans to hit the road?
We want to hit the road and play our music across the country. We are working on that and hoping that things fall into place rather quickly.
What else is happening next in 19machine’s world?
The 10-song album will be released sometime in the near future. Until then, we hope people enjoy rocking out to “Enough of You” and the next single throughout the summer! We will continue to play shows across Texas in the meantime, so we hope people catch us in person if they can or keep streaming our tunes! Thank you for the interview, VENTS! Keep rockin’ on!
