Devon based trio Tors return with their second sweetly infectious release of 2019 “Something I Said”. Harnessing angelic vocals and ethereal harmonies alongside a pop-tinged backdrop, the track reminds why this band are an ever-growing force to be reckoned with.
Speaking on the track themselves, the band say; “’Something I Said’ is a combination of experiences we’ve had in relationships that went wrong and you just don’t know why. That awful one-sided conversation when they ask to stay friends and you couldn’t imagine anything worse. How can you be friends with someone you saw your life being with? It’s a breakup song, a question and a ‘fuck you’ all in one really.”
Taking shape around brothers Matt and Theo Weedon and third counter-part Jack; Tors take their name after a collection of different rock formations in Devon, where the band hail from. It was no coincidence the Weedon brothers gravitated to music with it being in their blood as the grandsons of the late Bert Weedon; a famous guitarist during the 50’s and 60’s, and writer of Play In A Day; a book which has been credited by Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, John Lennon (to name a few), for their guitar abilities.
