LIZ LOKRE has music deep in her blood, she is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto and has been writing and performing since she was 12 years old.
Growing up singing in church and winning music competitions across North America. Liz’s father booked live rock music in his native Dublin and her Trinidadian mother travelled the world as an Indian dancer – her grandmother in fact pioneered a popular pre-bollywood style of Indian dance.
Whilst spending time between LA and London, it’s in Toronto that LIZ LOKRE continues to hone her craft, for the past few years she has been collaborating with producer and guitarist Adrian X [The Weeknd, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR]. Together they have created a soulful sound that speaks to Liz’s message and reason for singing; to inspire and uplift.
With previous releases such as Stop Runnin and Buh Bye, Liz has accumulated over 1 million streams on Spotify, her latest offering Help Myself, has a smooth and soft instrumental base which really allows for you to take in Liz’s honest and beautiful vocal performance where she shows raw emotions.
Speaking on Hel Myself, LIZ LOKRE says This is a song about healing and growth. When I listen to ‘Help Myself’ I’m reminded how beautifully resilient the human spirit is… capable of risking so much in hopes that there is something worth while on the other side of pain.
Head Honcho, Editor in Chief and writer here on VENTS. I don't like walking on the beach, but I love playing the guitar and geeking out about music. I am also a movie maniac and 6 hours sleeper.
