Brighton alt-rock band Demonstrations has release their brand new single ‘Holy Water’ – produced by Theo Verney (TRAAMS, Fake Laugh). Listen here
A mix of terror and pure joy, the track offers a change of pace for the three-piece, who are back to prove their purpose with a defined sound that goes beyond the realms of traditional alt-rock.
Touching on themes of faith and morality, ‘Holy Water’ delves into the depths of how these topics can conflict your own internal belief systems and express what it feels like to be in an existential crisis. “Theoretically this song was means to exercise some of my own paranoia and yearning to be cleansed.” Explains front-man Luke, “I’m not a particularly religious person but I do find myself torn between ideas I have in my own mind about spirituality and logic.”
Musically finding influence from 80s art/rock bands including Pixies, Sonic Youth and Siouxsie And The Banshees, Demonstrations members Luke, Jess and Callum met at university. They bonded over their love for chilled tracks and their passion for making music that would express their feelings and indecision.
In the 2 years since their formation the band have accumulated an impressive live CV having played with the likes of Hotel Lux, rising stars FUR, Feet, DITZ and Famous.
