INTERVIEW: Sleep Nation

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’ve all been doing great! Just living out our Out of Control, Rock n Roll Lifestyle!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Woman”?

Our bassist actually wrote the opening riff. After that everything kind of fell into place. There’s plenty of great women in our lives, and this song exemplifies that.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Just all of the wonderful female examples throughout all of our lives.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

The filming with a mannequin was actually frightening sometimes. It freaked everyone of us out!

How was the recording and writing process?

Tony Grissom, one of our best friends, assisted us in the recording and mixing process.

What role does Nashville play in your music?

Our best shows have all been in Nashville. We’ve played 12th and Porter, Hard Rock Cafe, and Piranhas all of those venues have shaped our sound and energy.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

We’re taking back to the old school method circa 1950s. Singles are becoming the norm, and therefore we are following suit.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Next release will be “Headlights,” and the video will be our take on the Space X launch.

Any plans to hit the road?

If the opportunity arises we will be there. Other than that, we will be cutting across the volunteer state as much as possible.

What else is happening next in Sleep Nation’s world?

We have a comic book in the works! That’s all we can say!
