Tropical Fuck Storm, the Australian outfit Slatedescribed as “the Mekons under assault by both Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band and a sentient PlayStation,” share a cover of Missy Elliott’s “Can’t Stop” via Self-Titled (http://www.self-titledmag.com/2019/05/01/tropical-fuck-storm-cant-stop-missy-elliott-cover/) as the band announce a North American Summer tour, kicking off on Aug. 28 in Los Angeles.
“We’ve recorded an excellent version of ‘Can’t Stop’ to cash in on the Sex Addiction Epidemic happening right now in all of our weakest Spotify markets,” coyly said the band featuring The Drones’ Fiona Kitschin and Gareth Liddiard with drummer Lauren Hammel (High Tension) and guitarist/keyboardist Erica Dunn (Mod Con, Harmony).
The song is available both digitally and as a 7-inch single (https://bit.ly/2Y0hVZT) from Joyful Noise Recordings, with the new track, “The Planet of Straw Men” (https://youtu.be/M2xOxmHTYMg) as the release’s a-side.
