The greatest football clubs of all time

The soccer world is becoming greater and greater each day thanks to clubs’ well nurturing and training their players throughout the year. However, we cannot skip top 5 soccer clubs that have consistency and the overall greatness of their players. As a result, they are called the greatest football clubs of all time.

Manchester United

Manchester United Football Club is a professional football club founded in 1878 in England. It is also the greatest English football club of England at that time. It has won the European Cup/ UEFA Champions League 3 times and finished runners-up on 2 more occasions. Under the management of Matt Busby, “the Red Devils” became a dominant football club in the 1950s even though they only  remained 8 players after the Munich air disaster in 1958. Some of their most talented footballers are George Best, Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton and super star David Beckham.

Manchester United has rivalries with numerous clubs over the globe such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Leeds United. Of all the rivalries, the one with Arsenal is known as one of the finest Premier League match-ups in history. In the battle for the Premier League title, both clubs earned 33 titles, 20 out of them belong to Manchester United and 13 titles belong to Arsenal. Between year 2016 and 2017, United became the highest-earning football club in the world and the world’s most valuable club one year later, which means they earned a lot of money thanks to their greatness.

FC Bayern Munich

Football-club Bayern Munich is a German sports club based in Munich, Bavaria. Founded in 1900 by 11 players, led by Franz John, this club is said to be one of the European giants. It won the Bundesliga title 28 times, the German Cup 18 times and the European Cup 5 times. FC Bayern had its period of greatest success in the middle of the 1970s under the tutelage of Franz Beckenbauer. Bayern Munich ais one of four German clubs to win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in the same season along with Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen and 1. FC Koln.

Bayern is historically the most successful team in German football. Its superb players include Franck Ribery, Phillips Lahm, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben. Its chief European rivals are Manchester United, A.C. Milan and Real Madrid due to a number of classic wins, draws as well as loses. Madrid supporters often call Bayern the “Black Beast” whenever they watch the match between the two teams. In addition, AC Milan is one of the wealthiest teams in Italian and world football. Its stadium is the 80,018 seat San Siro, which had been privately built by funding from Milan’s president before. In the past, it was supported by the city’s working class. According to a study from 2010, Milan is the most supported Italian team in Europe and seventh overall, with over 18.4 million fans worldwide.

FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona, colloquially known as Barca, is a Spanish professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1899, same year with AC Milan, FC Barcelona is known as a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism. Its motto is “More than a club”. Besides, it is also the fourth-most valuable sports team and the second-richest football club in the world in terms of revenue.

They stand for the pride of Catalunya, which comes under Spain/ Ph:

Barcelona earned 20 European and World titles in International club football so many times. Additionally, it was ranked first in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics Club World Ranking 5 times.

Talking about Barcelona, people always talk about talented players such as Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Neymar and Xavier Fernandez. They altogether made Barca the most delightful team to watch in the past decade, which help them become the first European club in history to achieve the continental treble twice.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid, founded on 6th March 1902, is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid. Real Madrid is called “the king of the clubs” that no other team is able to match their success and clout. During the 1950s, the team had won five consecutive European Cups and reached the final seven times. At that time, Ferenc Puskas, Raymond Kopa, Alfredo Di Stefano and Jose Santamaria corporated well with each other to make Real Madrid the best club ever, gaining their reputation among other players in the world.

The word real is Spanish for “royal” and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem/ Ph:

Real Madrid has won a wide range of different titles in European and worldwide competitions, including 26 trophies, 13 European Cup/ UEFA Champions League titles and 4 UEFA Super Cups. Now, people usually talk about Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema as influential players of the club when it comes to their football match with other difficult rivalries like FC Barcelona. Every football fan may know the game between these two teams is “ the Classic” (El Clasico).

All in all, football happens to be the most popular game in the world and therefore, the big clubs enjoy enormous popularity. The success of aforementioned teams is made by the solidary of talented players along with experienced captain in each group.
