Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We have been well thanks for asking, busy at the moment getting gigs sorted and preparing for our slot at this years K-Fest Festival on the 3rd of August.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Talking Tel Aviv”?

Its actually our 1st ever release but its about our now producer “Liad Broyde.”

I think you guys have interviewed him in his band “Downstairs Monsters.”

Anyway, me and him became really good friends and he is from Tel Aviv. We connected over music and so became best pals through that alone. We would talk (and still do) on a daily basis and its as simple as that really “Talking Tel Aviv” there is a line in it that says “don’t nt you worry lady theres no monsters down them stairs” thats a nod to his band “Downstairs Monsters”

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We are looking into getting an animated video done for it to give it that real 60’s   Summer of love vibe. Make it really psychedelic and warm. Almost like “Take on Me” by Aha but with real vibrant colours in it.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was literally wrote in about 10 minutes. I then send all the ideas and structures over to Liad and he does his magic with the songs. It really is that simple from our end.

What role does Manchester play in your music?

A massive role. We all grew up listening to Oasis, Stone Roses, The Smiths (you could go on and on) and we are not ashamed to have that sound run through our music. People always say we sound like old school indie and we are proud of that because we wear our influences on our sleeves and why cant you sound like what you love? I mean Talking Tel Aviv is probably the least Manchester indie sounding tune we have but all the others are straight outta the. 90’s and we have no shame in admitting that!

Two out of your three new singles play with either different languages or nations – how much cultural driven you guys look for your music to be or is that just a coincidence?

I wanna give you a massive heart felt answer……but its just coincidence I’m afraid. So i see your refereeing to our last single “Cest La Vie”…..its more romantic than calling a song “This is just the way life is” and to be honest……it rhymed a-lot better as well!  Haha

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

We are writing all the time and must have about 30 songs we can fire out if needs be. I myself must have about another 50 or 60 so we have a great catalogue of tunes at the minute. Really hitting our stride as a songwriting band at the minute.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

“What are the rules” is the next single, its proper rock n roll belter that has an real catchy riff and the chorus just blows you away so keep your ears pricked for that coming in the next month or so.

Any plans to hit the road?

We are always gigging where and whenever we can so just keep an eye on our facebook and Instagram and see if we are near you guys soon!

What else is happening next in DDE’s world?

Gigging, recording, sleep, repeat. We are gearing up to some massive festival gigs coming up and also planning our 1st album. Its all guns blazing at the minute and so we are looking to be everybody’s favourite new (old) band before the year is out!
