Jamie Hamilton Releases “Letters To A Younger You”

‘Letters To A Younger You’ is the second single from Jamie Hamilton’s forthcoming album, ‘Love Songs For The End Of The World’. It is a timely examination of a climate in collapse, reflected in the deterioration of a relationship:

“Summer threatened and subsided / You were beautiful and blind / And I was terrified.”

“Dead river, quick livers / We’ve had our time on land / But soon the ocean will command / That we crawl back to her.”

“Letters takes place towards the end of the album’s story arc, just as the full impact of climate change is becoming undeniable. It is a break up song of sorts, occurring amidst the chaos of a crumbling civilisation. The voice in the story blames themself for the breakdown of the relationship, at the same time as slowly coming to terms with the part they’ve played in the degradation of the planet’s degradation.”
