Aussie independent singer/songwriter,Ziggy Alberts is thrilled to announce more US Tour dates for his upcoming North America Tour. The tour will start on June 18 in New York, NY. Tickets will be on sale at 10 AM local time Friday, April 26th and available at www.ziggyalberts.com. See all tour dates below.
Last year, Ziggy embarked on his debut North American US tour and near-sold out the entire tour.
The album is filled with references to the planet – a subject close to Ziggy’s heart as a surfer and environmental enthusiast – and imagined scenarios that act as vehicles for Ziggy’s internal monologues and as subtle social commentary. At only 24 years old Ziggy has released five records, co-founded his own label Commonfolk Records. Laps Around The Sun is Ziggy’s fifth record and the first full-length album since his 2014 Land & Sea release.
The singles ‘Stronger,’ ‘Love Me Now’ and title track ‘Laps Around The Sun’ were all added to triple j high rotation. Ziggy landed two spots as a first-timer in the countdown. Also tracks have been featured in countless playlists world-wide, including New Music Friday and The A-List, Singled Out, Folk Pop, Front Left and featured as New Artist of The Week on Apple Music. ‘Love Me Now’ alone racked up an impressive 2 million streams in the 3 months after its release.
In celebration of the new album Laps Around The Sun, Ziggy Alberts has embarked on hisLaps Around The Sun World Tour. Kicking off his first shows in December of 2018, Ziggy has headlined rooms of all shapes and sizes across Australia, New Zealand, and is continuing on into UK, Europe, North America, South Africa and South America.
No stranger to life on the road, the world tour celebrates the next chapter in Ziggy’s growing career and will take him to both foreign and familiar lands. With over 100 dates to be announced, be sure to keep a close eye as more shows start to roll out.
For first time Ziggy enthusiasts, we will give this away – Ziggy is an energetic performer with songs that carry powerful messages about his passion for the ocean & environment, love stories and memories of being on the road as a touring musician. Somehow Ziggy continues to truly connect with his audience, despite the growing room sizes at every show. Expect your night to be a musical journey of dancing, sing-a-longs, and unplugged favorites, with Ziggy having the crowd bouncing one moment to silently swaying the next.
Ziggy Alberts has previously released two EPs Feels Like Home (2012) and Four Feet in the Forest (2016), and two albums, Made of Water (2013) and Land & Sea (2014). He has toured extensively, in 2017 Ziggy played 11 countries on his ‘Tell Me European Tour’ which included sold out headline shows and festival appearances. Ziggy returned home to embark on his ‘Heaven Tour’ playing 2,000+ capacity theatres across Australia’s capital cities including: Thebarton Theatre, Astor Theatre (sold out), Palais Theatre (sold out), QPAC Concert Hall (sold out) and Enmore Theatre (sold out). In 2018, Ziggy has played the main Mojo stage at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest to 5,000+ fans, his first North America tour and a sold out one-off show at the Scala in London.
