Combining his extensive experience in visual media with his natural talent for music, Arsh Singh is a star in the making. For his very first single he has chosen to release his own take on One Republic’s “If I Lose Myself”, adding his own, crystal-clear vocals and heartfelt-emotion to the track. Also directing its hard-hitting, emotionally-charged video, If I Lose Myself is the perfect introduction to Arsh’s world, one in which story-telling and human emotion rule and one which is bound to touch audiences worldwide.
Arsh Singh was born up in Dubai and after periods living in India, the UK and Canada, but has now settled in Los Angeles. Obsessed by the art of film-making from an early age, he often visualised music videos for his favourite artists and sought refuge in these celluloid worlds when times were tough. Initially Arsh found himself on the other side of the lens, appearing in hugely successful Bollywood films such as Gold Bracelet (2005); the internationally-release horror film, Hotel Hollywood (2010); and All Out Dysfunktion! (2016), released digitally globally by Gravitas.
Despite these successes, as well as many other acting roles, including those in Punjabi music videos, he has resisted the temptation to become a film-maker himself – until now. His music videos are shot as literal short films, incorporating themes as much as showcasing the artist and the music. Introducing himself to the musical stage with a cover of One Republic’s If I Lose Myself, his talent for story-telling is obvious. With a video which would put many a blockbuster to shame, it’s a heart-wrenching story where we follow the characters from beginning to end with a positive message of self-belief, strength and courage.
A successful businessman, salsa and bhangra dancer, composer, musician, singer and director, it feels like it’s written in the stars that the world will soon be singing his songs and watching his videos.
