Singer/songwriter Spencer Crandall is undeniably an artist on the rise in country music. Blazing a trail of his own, Spencer just dropped his new EP, More, which he released earlier this month. Spencer feels the songs on More are the most genuine and personal songs he’s released to date, and we could not agree more with him! Tracks like “Ain’t Working for Me” and “Silverado” display real-life experiences and feelings, and the heartwarming “Kept Every Vow” was inspired by the true love story and marriage of Spencer’s parents.
Spencer shared an acoustic performance of “Ain’t Working for Me” off his latest album, More, exclusively with VENTS. The track shows a bit of a darker side of Spencer’s songwriting, featuring his vulnerability and authenticity as an artist. Check out the stripped-back song in the video below!
“’Ain’t Working for Me’ is a song about having your heart broken and trying to fake a smile through the pain,” he explains how he was not afraid to tap into his emotions penning this track, “This song is an emotional rollercoaster about trying to piece things back together after a break up.”
We are absolutely loving this relatable track from Spencer; check out “Ain’t Working for Me” to hear his genre-bending sound and one-of-a-kind style above. We’re loving what we see so far from Spencer Crandall, and we can’t wait to see the heights he will reach.
Head Honcho, Editor in Chief and writer here on VENTS. I don't like walking on the beach, but I love playing the guitar and geeking out about music. I am also a movie maniac and 6 hours sleeper.
