INTERVIEW: Pierre Alexandre Periot

How would you classify your music?

It’s Jazz Blues, Boogie, and Famous French Songs with a jazz touch.

Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?

French singers : Charles Aznavour, Yves Montant, Charles Trenet,  American singers: Ray Charles, Natalie Cole…

What do you want fans to take from your music?

Swing, enjoyment and rythm.

How’s the music scene in your locale?

There are a lot of Jazz Bands from New Orleans, to blues and Swing french Jazz.

What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?

We love each concert because they are all different, it is difficult to choose because playing live allows us to be in direct contact with the public, we like concerts where people clap in the hands.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

It’s “Route 66”  of Bobby Troup, it’s a very swing and groove song.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

I had the chance to meet extraordinary musicians, mainly in New York, French musicians but also American musicians, new projects will be born, we will work on covers and compositions.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?

I had the chance to play for Charles Aznavour, but I would have liked to compose songs with him, as a meeting with Ray Charles would be a dream.

What’s next for you?

We continue to develop internationally our concerts in usa and in Europe.
