INTERVIEW: Chuck Wonderland

Hi Chuck, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’m great thank you very much for your interest in myself, it’s always a pleasure for me to have a chance to speak about my music and my world.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Free Like A Bird”?

Actually, the story goes way back like 6 years ago…Back in the days Larry handed it to me the acoustic original version of Free Like A Bird, after listening to it I knew already what to do with it. With Larry’s great collaboration we gave the track another shot and shaping into something groovier and more electronic.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Yes, and Karma did it for us! Since the project was born we haven’t let go of any motivations and music related inspirations to go deeper into making sound that match the vibes we intend to keep.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes Indeed!

Thanks to the Black Motion Agency on them work by the way! we ‘re expecting very soon a Lyrics Video Clip that represent the song structed all in 3D… it’s going to be huge. Also, during the summer, we will give you an official video clip of Free Like A Bird. stay tuned.

How was the recording and writing process?

Easier than I expected to be honest, because believe it or not the structure of the song was already inside my head. The times spend at the studio and especially Larry’s exceptional work were always valuable and inspiring.

What role does Dubai play in your music?

Dubai helped me discover a new side of the Middle East, it was an extraordinary experience for me to spend 5 years there. Culturally speaking and professionally Dubai never ceased to impress me. It got me to build a notoriety as a DJ, I had the chance to play with Axwell, Martin Solveig, 50 cent, Drake…

What was it like to work with Larry Lynch and what did he brought up to the table?

First of all, Larry is an amazing singer, it was such a pleasure to work with him. He has some Jeff Buckley’s DNA that inspired me.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than on your own?

Actually, it’s better for me to work with someone because I enjoy more when everybody brings something to the table. Mixing different universes with people creates the perfect harmony. The more the merrier…

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yes Sir! We are starting new collaborations with new artists with different vibes. We are as much excited as you to show you more…Stay tuned

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

No released dates on sight yet. But I only can tell you that we ‘re preparing something with the talented Coco which title brings “Lost for Lost”.

Any plans to hit the road?

Starting by Montreal Next week for the Opening of Obsession Club and the Monaco Rolex Masters at Jimmy’z Monte Carlo…Updates to follow.

What else is happening next in Chuck Wonderland’s world?
