Up-and-coming four-piece Penelope Isles recently signed to Bella Union, and today they announce their remarkable debut album Until the Tide Creeps In. Formed around the chemistry between siblings and dual songwriters Jack and Lily Wolter, who are six years apart, the quartet’s expansive DIY mix of translucent dream-pop, fuzz-rock guitars and indie-psych flushes comes lovingly dipped in exquisite harmonies and lustrous melodies: a combination so intuitive, you’d think it was in their blood. Until the Tide Creeps In, which was self-produced by Jack, will be out on July 12th – pre-order the album HERE, and see below for album art, tracklisting, and UK/EU tour dates.
To celebrate the album announcement, Penelope Isles release an incredible new music video, made by Jack, for “Chlorine.” Between its beatific surface calm and emotional rip-tides, choppy guitars and sailing harmonies, “Chlorine” is a buoyant but biting tale, and an exciting first peek into the immersive world of Penelope Isles.
