First generation Congolese-American producer/vocalist Eli Wessereturns today (4/5/2019) with the video for “Red Light,” his first new single in nearly two years. Directed by Xerox Visuals(Rae Sremmurd et al.) and shot in Detroit, Michigan, “Red Light” is Eli’s first ever music video. Made from scratch in 2017, “Red Light” was the result of a freestyled recording session that took Eli just under 24 hours.
EliWesse grew up in a single family home with his two immigrant parents from the Congo, and four sisters. As a first generation Congolese-American, Eli took the road less-traveled by his family and peers. After his father passed in 2014, Eli left home in Ypsilanti, Michigan as a young teen to live on his own on the East Coast and pursue music. He eventually moved back home to Michigan to regroup and hone his craft, sacrificing a love interest at the time– a situation detailed in Eli‘s “Small Talk” single.
