Coming off of his wildly successful 2018 album, Death Lust, about police brutality and growing up on society’s periphery, Chastity is releasing a four track EP, Death Lust Cuts, of unreleased songs out April 17 via CapturedTracks.
Chastity is a world of its own from the mind of Brandon Williams. Reflecting the working class background of Whitby, Ontario, Chastity’s songs are charged with the ethos of archetypal youth on the fringe. His new EP, DeathLust Cuts is part of the 2018 Death Lust narrative following an emotional journey from despair to rage to resilience.
Today we are excited to share “Trepidation,” the first track off Death LustCuts.Watch video here! There is an obvious contrast from the lo-res “Trepidation” to the consistently sharp, challenging imagery of his 2018 music videos like “Children” and “Heaven Hell Anywhere Else.” The single shot of the actress Hannah Clark allows for her raw emotions to be shown in real time. The absence of editing forces her sentiment to be fully exposed without escaping to another shot.
“Death Lust is meant to feel manic; spanning from naive happiness to pent up sadness beginning to show its horns. When I shot the video for “Trepidation” I wanted to convey this manic experience, beginning with Hannah crying, ending with her laughing, hysteria.” – Brandon Williams (Chastity)
