London based alt-pop band ZELAH open their account for 2019 with their latest single ‘Save Me’. Their blend of dark, atmospheric soundscapes and soulful vocals recently saw the band’s lead singer being asked to feature on Matrix & Futurebound’s new single ‘Got You There’, which has already hit 1M streams and has been supported heavily across Spotify. Taking influence from the likes of Lorde, London Grammar and BANKS, ZELAH now find their fanbase base growing on a daily basis and with more new material pencilled for later this year the band look set to capitalise on the swathes of attention that is coming their way. The new single ‘Save Me’ is another offering of ZELAH’s trademark sound with moody synths paving the way for lead singer Zelah Van-Gowler’s breath taking vocal to take centre stage. The choruses grow into something altogether more powerful and vibrant, a soaring vocal shines a gorgeous light across subtle, jittering guitars and full, warm synths giving you a real taste of the band’s ability to write infectious and arresting alt-pop songs.
Speaking on the track; “I think we all go through phases of vulnerability and missing what we once had even years after it has ended with someone. As time goes on you mature naturally and see from a clearer perspective, you have a better idea of your own mistakes and insecurities that lead to the breakup, and how silly things become insignificant or how you would do things differently. Basically you realise someone was and could be such a good fit for you but you just happened to meet them at the wrong time. Not always, but sometimes.”
With their first London headline show at Strongroom in Shoreditch on April 3 to announce the new single, ZELAH look to build on the early success they have had already this year to stake a claim as an emerging artist to keep a close eye on.
