INTERVIEW: Trident Water

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Yeah really good. Very busy with all things TW!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Eva Lane”?

Its a great summer rock song. Very catchy!

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Summertime I guess. It was written about a road trip that happened later. Kind of prophetic.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

Some of it was filmed during a trip across California and Nevada, literally Hollywood to Vegas.

The main band footage was filmed in a cold warehouse in Tottenham. Slight contrast there!

The single comes off your new album Hollywood To Vegas – what’s the story behind the title?

Its actually a line from Eva Lane. I ended up going on a journey late last year across the states and literally went from Hollywood To Vegas. This inspired the kind Americana theme of the E.P.

How was the recording and writing process?

Recording happened over a few months in Worcestshire. Dave Draper produced the record.

He’s a great guy to work with and captured the energy of the band.

How Led Zeppelin and Rival Sons has influence your writing?

I can’t lie those are my favourite classic and modern rock band. So they’ve been a big influence.  Can you tell??

What role does London play in your music?

It’s actually hard to be a musician in London. Travel is difficult and congestion is also a ball ache. It would be nice to relocate outside of the capital actually.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

Everywhere in life there is no formula.

Any plans to hit the road?

We’re out on the road in May and June. Dates to be announced soon.

What else is happening next in Trident Waters’ world?

Mostly working towards the EP release and the ensuing tour. So far Eva Lane has had really positive feedback so we’re really excited for the future.
