“‘The Little Mermaid’ is such a special movie and the music is so beloved,” said Lea Michele. “I am so honored to be able to perform these timeless songs at Hollywood Bowl alongside such a talented cast.”

“‘POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS’ is one of the greatest Disney villain songs created for one of the most flamboyant Disney villains and written by the absolute genius team of Menken and Ashman,” said Harvey Fierstein. “Returning to Hollywood Bowl as Ursula is a dream from which I hope to never awaken. I can’t wait!!!!”

“Super excited to announce that I’ll be a prince on the iconic Hollywood Bowl stage for this year’s Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ Live!” said Leo Gallo, from “The Voice” and “Westside.”  “Singing on that stage is a dream come true for me.  Anything is possible, if you commit!”

“Years ago, I recorded an audition demo for ‘The Little Mermaid,’ as Sebastian,” said Ken Page, best known to Disney fans as Oogie Boogie in “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”  “Since then I have wanted to sing his wonderful songs again. One of the biggest treats is that it will be ‘live!’ That’s always a happy place for me. The fact that I’m returning to Hollywood Bowl for my fifth appearance is yet another reason for ‘happiness.’ What great fun this will be!”

These celebrated songs from THE LITTLE MERMAID will be performed live on stage by the incredible cast with fan-favorite musical numbers including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and “Part of Your World.” To expand on the musical experience, a number of songs from Broadway’s The Little Mermaid will be incorporated into the evening.

Making this event even more immersive (and submersive) this iconic venue will be transformed into Hollywood Fish Bowl Dive-In Theatre for a magical night both under the stars and “under the sea.”

To recreate the feeling of an underwater night out at the “dive-in,” in addition to the feature film, this evening will include a full program of aquatically-themed previews of coming attractions, nostalgic animated snack bar commercials, and the 1938 Silly Symphony cartoon “Merbabies” featuring the world premiere of a live original score composed and performed by 17 year-old piano sensation, Emily Bear. Audiences are also invited to participate in a Little Mermaid themed costume contest and unique photo opportunities to get them in the spirit before the show starts.

“For me an evening at Hollywood Bowl has always resembled the perfect night of hanging out at a classic drive-in,” says concert director Richard Kraft. “It’s a night out with family and friends, enjoying a communal experience in a classic outdoor venue watching a movie together under the stars.”

Additionally, the award-winning creative studio Mousetrappe will return to harness state-of-the-art projection mapping technology to project newly created and breathtaking animated “living scenery” onto the façade of Hollywood Bowl, making the event an evolving extension of the beloved film and score.

“The unsung hero of all the Bowl’s takes on Disney films remains the newly created animation, projected around the venue’s shell to add a tinge of theme-park immersion to the proceedings,” wrote the Los Angeles Times about Mousetrappe’s work on last year’s Beauty and the Beast event.

This year’s 30th anniversary celebration of The Little Mermaid, the projections on the shell of the Bowl will emphasize an immersive Dive-In Movie Theatre experience for the audience.

The concert is directed by Richard Kraft and produced by Laura Engel & Richard Kraft, Columbia Artists/Tim Fox & Alison Ahart Williams, and Live Nation/Andrew Hewitt & Bill Silva Presents, in association with Disney Concerts, the team behind several highly acclaimed live to film events atHollywood Bowl including Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in Concert starring Zooey Deschanel and Kelsey Grammer as well as Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas starring Danny Elfman and Catherine O’Hara.

Conductor Michael Kosarin will be leading the full orchestra performing the film’s classic score and cherished songs live-to- picture along with the outstanding cast and special guest artists performing the film’s acclaimed songs live.

Concert producer Alison Ahart Williams explains, “We’re so thrilled to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film with an extraordinary concert experience mixing film, singing stars, live music, and fully immersive digital projections that can only be experienced live.'”
