Fellow Robot recently partnered with Idobi internet radio for a premiere of their new single “So What” on the platform’s Idobi Anthm channel. The single is a rousing shoegazing track that further showcases the sonic expansion of the band as they prep for their sophomore album release on April 24th via Donut Sounds Record Co.
Lead vocalist Anthony Pedroza had this to say about the single: “I wrote it during one of my darkest hours, when I was worried about the lives of my wife and unborn child. She had a rare condition, that eventually corrected itself, and they both are fine. We really wanted loud distorted guitars on this one to drown out the thoughts and melodies.”
Vinyl pre-orders for The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol. 2 are also now live via Seattle imprint, Donut Sounds Record Co, in addition to other Fellow Robot merch like enamel pins and exclusive tees. For a limited time, all orders of Vol. 2 will include The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol. 1 for free.
In addition to the release of the second installment of a three part sci-fi / indie-rock trilogy, the band are slated to release a split EP with Long Beach friends, Bundy. The limited-run 4 song EP will feature two new tracks and two bonus tracks. Fans will receive a free download of the split upon pre-order and the EP will be formally released in the beginning of April.
Fellow Robot released their debut album The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol. 1 last Summer via Seattle vinyl imprint Donut Sounds Record Co. The band celebrated the vinyl release of the dystopian concept record with a packed show at Fingerprints in Long Beach. Album cut “Clone Baby,” was also featured in blogger American Pancake’s year end list of “110 Fav(orite) Songs of 2018.” Fans can order The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol. 1 on vinyl here.
