EZI has dropped her new single “Glad I know You” via 5Towns Records. A testament to sisterhood, the single is the “soundtrack” to the Spring Madden Girl campaign and EZI notes, ““When Steve Madden approached me they said they wanted a song that was stripped back with a positive message. I immediately thought of ‘Glad I Know You’ which was just a rough demo at the time. The single is a love song to and about the people I love as opposed to the people I’m in love with. It’s about the ones I stay up drinking wine out of the bottle with, the ones who show up for me, the ones I make music with. My friends. I’m so glad I know you.”
EZI is also happy to announce she will be playing at Cornell University’s esteemed Slope Day festival on May 8 in Ithaca, NY. Also on the bill are Steve Aoki and Cousin Stizz.
Last month saw EZI reveal her take on Berlin’s classic song “Take My Breath Away” and Blackbook noted, “her version “is actually more ethereal and sultry, with a slithery groove and lush atmospherics. Her impassioned, breathy vocal performance literally sends chills.
Today’s single and the earlier “Family Tree” will both find their way onto EZI’s upcoming EP Ladylike.
