Since he was a child, Felix Räuber has been obsessed with making music and the communication of emotions. At age 13, he founded his first band in his basement that grew to become Polarkreis 18. Fronted by Räuber, their first studio album took them across Europe on tour, the second album achieved gold status, and single Allein Allein became one of the most successful German-language songs of all time (earning platinum status) and a global hit.

Their hiatus continues today. Räuber moved to Berlin in 2012 to realign himself as an artist. He began to work as an actor and lecturer, set up his own studio and produced albums and EP’s. In 2014, Räuber work began on a new pop project called Zwei von Millionen, which was released by Universal Music in 2017.

Inspired by his travels to the Middle East, Räuber has worked tirelessly on his own over the last year to create his own genre-spanning compositions that push his artistic limits. The release of his debut EP WALL represents, as he says himself, “a musical liberation” for Räuber.

Conceptually tying into the previously released WALL EP, Running Out Of Time performs in his cinematic pop style, an imposing symbiosis of elements of neoclassical and pop. Driven by archaic beats and orchestral themes, Räuber raises the topic of time and the question “What’s left of us?”. It pictures a Titanic-like scenario of a sinking, over-stunned society, in which electronic sounds seem to run through his fingers like sand.

Räuber releases the single in combination with a corresponding music video, which is part of an art work, a video suite. For each song of the EP, a video, produced by Räuber, has been created, which builds on each other in content. So the Dresdener wants to sustainably occupy a niche with image and sound. Räuber goes on tour with his own ensemble at the end of April. The prelude is on 24.4. in Regensburg.

Speaking to the motivation behind Running Out Of Time, Felix shares:

For me, “Running Out Of Time” is one of my most personal songs, as it revises the story of my band Polarkreis 18 and their break up, as well as the coincidental end of my relationship at that time, a time when I had to build up everything again from scratch. That´s the reason why exactly “Running Out Of Time” is the first single of my second solo EP “ME.” It was clear to me from the beginning that the script and the direction had to come from me to make it as personal as possible. My girlfriend plays the main role in it and I wanted to represent evolution and creation graphically and symbolically against each other to represent the big topic of that time in my life. As with all my, partly film-nominated, videos Nora Otte supported me as a co-director. But also the film company Ravir and Moritz Gruhl when it comes to visual effects had a huge impact on the video. We are very proud of the result.
