Ed Prosek Releases “Wisdom”

Last year, two million fans streamed Ed Prosek’s songs over 12 million times on Spotify alone – frequently featuring on the prestigious Spotify New Music Friday and Apple Music Best Of The Week playlists – so he’s eager to reward them with a steady stream of new work. Wisdom is the first song taken from Ed’s forthcoming EP, Light As A Feather. A song shot through with shades of emotion, his voice crackling with gentle beauty, it’s a return to the raw tenderness that wooed his fanbase in the first place.

“Wisdom is about the strength it takes to open up and let someone else into your heart; that momentary fight-or-flight hesitation where you must reject the easy path and open yourself up to all the fears and doubts that come with loving someone fully.

“Wisdom is the feeling of that moment when you ask, ‘am I brave enough to do this?’ before steeling yourself and diving deep.”

And 2019 holds some surprises too. Ed’s designed a year of contrasting halves, split across two EPs, but having worked towards this moment for the last twelve months, he acknowledges that he fell off the radar a bit:

“If last year I could be accused of starving my listeners of new music, then this year I hope to do my best to drown them in as much new material as possible!

“We’ll be releasing regular songs on a monthly basis in both halves of the year but I truly believe that each of these songs can hold its own. I can’t wait to see what people think of them.”

The first EP is a lush return to the masterly songwriting which has enamoured millions; and on the second his timeless melodies subtly pulse with electronic and R&B sounds, a genre he discovered that he loves. A collaboration last year with producer Andrew Applepie, Don’t Fuck This Up, drew comparisons with Chet Faker from Indie Shuffle and was rewarded with millions of more streams.

Ed hopes that together, both of this year’s EPs will paint a more complete picture of him as an artist. It’s sure to please the fans that have rushed to embrace him.

“2018 was amazing for me, and I was overwhelmed by the support my music received. So 2019 is all about putting one foot in front of the other and pushing forward with all my might – to see where I can take myself creatively, and keep giving back to my fans.”

If 2018 was a year when millions of people first discovered Ed’s emotive lyrics and classic songwriting, then 2019 is set to be the year they fall in deeply in love with a wave of new songs which take his craft to new, lustrous heights.
