Taken By Trees Shares Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John) Remix Of George Michael “Careless Whisper” Cover

Swedish dream pop act Taken By Trees just released a Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John) remix of their entrancing cover of George Michael’sCareless Whisper with Paste. Frontwoman Victoria Bergsman explains the track: “There is closeness in this version, it sounds like I am right there. So bare. It is almost painful for me to listen to the verses. I think it is an excellent contrast to the main version by Dan Lissvik and Aaron Drake. Because that one is so layered and cushioned. This version is straightforward and stripped down but still has all of these beautiful and strong arrangements by Björn Yttling.”

Taken By Trees recently released their 4th full length LP Yellow To Blue, a playful and hopeful ten-track collection that explores the pop genre to its fullest, eliciting the help of Jesse Shatkins’ A-list calibre (Sia, Rihanna) and co-writers Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Adele), Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend) and Daniel Nigro (Empress Of, Carly Rae Jepsen). Bergsman, formerly of The Concretes, has been featured on Peter, Bjorn and John‘s global hit “Young Folks“, which garnered over 115 million streams on Spotify and has appeared on multiple late night TV shows such as Jay Leno andConan O’Brien. Taken By Trees’ crisp sun-soaked driving rhythms, gritty bass, and lush hi-fi mixes have garnered over 30 million streams since 2015.
