In the midst of a busy 2019 releasing new songs and touring across the country with Alex Cameron, Lola Kirke traveled to the acclaimed producer Matthew E. White’s Spacebomb Studios in Richmond, Virginia and recorded two tracks with White and the Spacebomb House Band (guitarist Alan Parker, pianist Daniel Clarke, bassist Cameron Ralston, drummer Pinson Chanselle). Today, ahead of her appearance at SXSW this week, Kirke releases one of those tracks, “Sip The Wine,” a buoyant cover of one of her favorite artists, Rick Danko, that showcases her unique vocal stylings and represents a different direction in her ever-evolving sound.
