I’m great. I’m excited to share with you so thanks for taking the time out to chat to me.
1) Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Live It Up Slow”?
“Live It Up Slow” is my debut single produced by Grammy nominated producer “Clayton Morrison”. I love the vibe and sound we created on this track, its like sunshine coming through your headphones. It’ll be my first release on the Indie label “I like Flamingoes.”
2) Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I’d say its more like a collective of life events. I felt it was important to make and sing music that relates to where I’m at now. Be yourself and be proud of it, regardless of the social pressures around you. I like truth. ( I’m a hippy at heart) So a positive message that people can relate to was key.
3) Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yeah, the video will be released after the single and was shot down in Brighton. It has a two part story line, which will be continued in the next single “Places”. The brilliant actors “Tessie Orange” and “Abayomi Oniyide” were amazing and director “OluCreates” made the vision come alive. The sun was shining which was perfect.
4) How was the recording and writing process?
Some artists like the writing process. Me, I love recording in the studio, that’s where the magic happens. Finding new harmonies and playing around with melodies, it always changes in the studio and that’s exciting. Claye and I had such fun creating this track. If I could live in a studio and sing all day, I’d be very happy! (haha)
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Definately! We’ve been busy! We have a remix which was done by London R&B/Soul artist “Ruby Francis” plus a Spanish version too, so watch this space! The second single is also ready to go.
6) Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Yes, it’s an exciting year for Ela Nedra! The remix of “Live it up Slow” will be released in April. The Spanish version will be released in May, then the second single, “Places” will be released after that.
7) Any plans to hit the road?
Not yet, but that would be amazing!
8) What else is happening next in Ela Nedra’s world?
Once we’ve released the second single and remix. It’ll be a re group, maybe more writing, who knows? It depends on how the public react to my music I guess!
