THE GALLERY come at you from Wakefield with their own blend of Alternative Rock peppered with post-punk nihilism and a slew of razor-sharp hooks. The raucous young upstarts have just released their blistering new single, Pesticide, out now via Animal Farm. Watch the video for the track, here –

Formed in 2017, four schoolmates – Joe Anderson-Smith (guitar), Sam Hawcroft (bass), Matthew Rees (vox) and Ben Whiteley (drums) raided their collections of genre-defining albums by Joy Division, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley and David Bowie to formulate a musical vocabulary that expresses their discontent with the music, politics and social issues of our times.

With a manifesto prompted by the group’s absolute boredom and distain with generic guitar bands, THE GALLERY passionately display a love of inventive guitar work and distorted bass hooks all injected with energetic social commentary. The end result is something real and fresh, sacrificing perfection for authenticity.
