Following on from Move ft. Sophia Black that released last year, Sleepy Tom returns to the world of sophisticated pop for new single Amateurs alongside singer-songwriter prodigy – Lights. Having worked the crowded EDM circuit with prominent dance hits, Sleepy Tom’s new pop venture signifies fresh sound experimentation and a glimpse into the upcoming Amateurs EP.

Amateurs dresses synth melodies and anthemic vocals, courtesy of alt-pop  phenomenon Lights, that flow effortlessly amongst elegant song writing – sealing the single with a captivating effect. While never losing sight of the high-energy, hook-laden dance music that propelled Sleepy Tom into the limelight, Amateurs demonstrates his versatile ability to devle into the pop sphere. He explains:

There’s so much cross-pollination going on in music right now, and I think that’s where the excitement is. I want to explore pop song structures, more real instruments, more hooks to create a more accessible and intimate experience for people listening”.

Having released music on influential labels like Fools Gold and Mad Decent, and working with the likes of Zeds Dead, Porter Robinson, and Martin Solveig for official remixes (his remix of Intoxicated surpassed an impressive 7 million streams) Sleepy Tom’s rise has been hard to ignore. His originals have dominated charts including hit single Be Right There alongside powerhouse producer Diplo. Meanwhile, his forthcoming Amateurs EP focuses on a more musical and collaborative effort that finds new levels of influences and inspiration from his talented co-artists.
