Alt-rockers Mother Mother have released a music video for their emotional new single, “It’s Alright” out today. The single comes hot off the heels of the group’s smash hit “Get Up” which claimed the #1 spot on Alternative Radio in Canada for an impressive 7 weeks. Music fans can watch the video for “It’s Alright” HERE and learn more about the making of the song HERE.

“It’s Alright,” is a heartbreakingly honest song about the healing quality of self-forgiveness written by the band’s lead singer and lyricist Ryan Guldemond. After releasing the single the band received an overwhelming reaction from listeners who reached out to share their own struggles and journey of self-forgiveness. The strong reaction from fans inspired Mother Mother to create a fan sourced music video and accompanying social media campaign that can be followed HERE. The video, shot in Vancouver, features a diverse cast of real people opening up about their own stories with a variety of themes like depression, eating disorders, disability and belonging. The result is an extremely authentic and vulnerable video that the band hopes will encourage people to talk about their emotions and what they may be feeling and experiencing in their lives.

About the deeply personal song Guldemond remarked, “based on the reaction from our listeners, we found there to be a therapeutic value in the words and music that was making impact and helping people get through some hard times. This prompted the idea to make a music video starring real people with real problems. Our message behind this song and video is to advocate talking about one’s problems, or points of shame, guilt, embarrassment, regret etc, to a comforting and non-judgmental source. By doing so, we are better able to separate from our issues and see them more objectively, allowing us to work our way through, and move closer to peace.”

“It’s Alright” is the band’s second single off their seventh full-length album, Dance and Cry released in 2018 to critical acclaim. The album’s debut single “Get Up” was an instant hit, claiming the #1 spot at Canadian Alternative Radio for an impressive 7 weeks. Mother Mother is currently on a headlining tour playing sold-out venues across the United States and Canada.
