Cartoon Lizard Release “Neighbouring Hotels”

Cartoon Lizard is a five piece maximalist psychedelic pop outfit based out of Victoria, BC. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/producer, thus holding a strong emphasis on careful collaboration in shaping each song to it’s fullest potential while maintaining a focus on meticulous experimentation in the studio and the constant refining of their craft. Cartoon Lizard’s songs are intricately arranged, multi-coloured compositions designed to appeal on a surface level as well as reward those who unearth its hidden layers through repeated listens.

Their new psych track titled “Neighbouring Hotels” is paired with sweet, melodic vocals. You can listen and watch on Youtube!

About The Song, the band comments:

“Neighbouring is a call to those battling lifelong pain and/or mental and physical illness.  We want to let them know that they are seen and recognized everyday, even though there pain may be hidden.

The story simply details a seance happening in a hotel in and amongst many hotels and city buildings where other lives are happening.  In our hotel room, a bedridden character is surrounded by friends calling out into the spirit world to bring a potion of healing. With or without a cure our ailing protagonist continues through life showcasing optimism.

Neighbouring Hotels is a swirling wind of acoustic samples, and high reaching harmonies.  You are a wandering soul trying to make your way out of a forest, only to eventually rest in the moss.
