Bay Area born and Los Angeles based trio Dizzy Spells have revealed the lead single from their full-length debut. Titled “Pool”, it’s a shimmering indie-pop anthem about the constant push and pull of anxiety inspired “by bedroom pop, streetlights, Lamp Lit Prose, crosswalk voices, and friends-as-Lorazepam.” The song was written in a cramped Calabasas cabin where Dizzy Spells hashed out their forthcoming record’s intricate blend of West African-guitar flourishes, lofi hip hop production, and “found footage” samples into an infectious indie-pop sound. On the heels of signing to Broken Entertainment, the final product fittingly came together in the legendary Sound City Studios with support from Red Bull’s Alumni New Beat Fund.
Dizzy Spells have an array of accomplishments under their belt, the most recent being repeated radio support from the legendary KROQ on their “Locals Only” broadcast. They’ve also taken their talents to the film sphere as writers and performers for the critically acclaimed Megan Leavey and The Lego Batman Movie. It’s all the product of a tight knit, brotherly ethos that involves a share passion for music and chugging Blair’s Mega Death Sauce on a weekly basis to further their bond; nothing will bring a band closer than that.
