After a six-year hiatus, beloved Danish indie pop band Alphabeat return with infectious new single “Shadows,” the first taste of their new album due for release this Autumn. With Danish sound wizard Emil Falk at the production helm, the single marks the group’s first formal US music release and Alphabeat’s debut release on new label Atlantic Records. The band will also make a special appearance at SXSW later this month.
“It has always been written in the stars that we should play together again and the desire has been there for a long time,” Stine Bramsen explains, who together with Anders SG leads the group. They are now ready to send Alphabeat out for new adventures. Stine continues: “There is a strong energy and chemistry which has been re-ignited with the track Shadows!”
Recorded in a summer house, “Shadows” captures the carefree spirit the band first introduced over a decade ago. Anders SG tells: “When we meet there, it is just like standing in the old practice room back in our hometown again. Wildness, friendship and naturally something that involves a few beers. We have made most of our demos at the summer house and it is also here we ended up recording most of the new songs. I actually believe we have tracks on the way for two entire albums. Ha! But right now we are just crazy excited to be back.”
