fika Release “Wait For You”

Today sees South London duo, fika, release their first single of 2019, “Wait For You”. The London pair had a great end to 2018 getting their first 100,000 spotify streams in only 2 months, with their previous release “High”. The soulful duo have lots of new music coming out in 2019, working with several collaborators, and are starting to take bookings for gigs.

Wait for you’ is a not-so fictional tune written about dealing with long distance relationships. After Sam’s (lead singer) girlfriend took a job offer in Africa for a year he wrote about the difficulties of dealing with the distance. They wanted to write a song that had elements of joy & love but coupled with distress & heartbreak, as you deal with a whole mix of emotions in long distance relationships, both good & bad. Yet, ultimately, when you know they’re the one… you’ll always wait.
