The Maine Open Retail Store Ahead Of Album Release

Last month, The Maine opened their own official retail store in their hometown of downtown Phoenix. The band dabbled with a storefront  in the past, by way of trialling a couple of pop-up shops to mark special occasions.

Now, the 8123 Store is open on a one year lease, with its official grand opening in January of this year during the second ever 8123 Fest. Over the course of its inaugural weekend, the store saw a turn out of thousands of fans. The store sold out of merchandise, hosted a tattoo artist onsite, and featured a collection of handmade items by fans.

The space, exudes The Maine in every detail – the woodworking was done by the band’s own guitarist Kennedy Brock, the photographs on the walls taken by the band’s photographer Lupe Bustos, the merchandise designed by The Maine’s manager Tim Kirch, and every corner of it’s interior design hand selected by the band themselves.

The capability to launch this type of endeavor stems only from the band’s hard work and DIY mentality – the freedom awarded to them by maintaining their integrity as a band and independence – all without the assistance of a record label.

The Maine wrote a think piece featured on Medium, reflecting on the store’s opening, what this means to the band at this stage in their career and what message they hope to spread to others in doing it. The 8123 Store will be open on Friday for The Maine’s First Friday event celebrating the release of their brand new single “My Best Habit”. The relaunch will feature restocked merchandise, brand new items, a meet & greet, giveaways, a free signed poster for the first 50 fans in attendance and more.

The Maine’s new album You Are Ok releases worldwide on March 29th 2019. The band are available for interviews and other features surrounding the release. Please direct all press inquiries to chelsea@eightyonetwentythree.com
