Rich Jones Shares New Song, “Overcoats” (Prod. The O’My’s)

Today, Chicago-based artist and community figure Rich Jones shares a new standalone single, “Overcoats” (Prod. The O’My’s). Featuring The O’My’s Maceo Haymes on guitar and Nick Hennesseyon organ, “Overcoats” is a track that evokes feelings of wonder, solitude, and contemplation. Inspired by the cold shoreline of Lake Michigan, tranquil guitar riffs and smooth, layered vocals seamlessly blend together to form an idyllic ideation of Chicago in the winter.

“The cold can make it very easy to become isolated because who the hell wants to be outside anyway?,” says Jones. “The benefit of this though is that for me, it puts me in a great position to reflect away from all the distractions that might otherwise put me out on the town. Even better, when I get to work with a small group of people this time of year, it’s special in that we’ve chosen to brave the elements to create and share together.”

“Overcoats” follows Jones’ most recent project, last year’s The Shoulder You Lean On which featured production work from J.Kelr (prod. “Smoke Again” by Chance The Rapper) and Kenny Keys
