Follows features 21-year old Grace Sewell, known to the world as Grace. At 17, the Australia-based singer-songwriter dropped her cover (with big-name rapper G-Eazy) of Lesley Gore’s 1963’s hit song You Don’t Know Me. Grace’s single peaked at number one on Australia’s charts for 16 weeks going 3x platinum. Signed to RCA and Sony Entertainment Australia, Grace released her debut studio album FMA in 2016 and her EP Memo in 2015, along with a few other hit singles.
Grace brings her timeless, hypnotic vocals to Follows as she serenades about her feelings towards a lost lover (‘Cause I had a thousand words to say // But I just swallowed up the pain // And I know I’ll be okay but still, it follows // Oh, it follows me // It follows me, mmh). As a mix of Brasstracks’ horn-infused R&B/soul production and Grace’s stunning vocals, the song evokes familiar feelings to the people listening. Ivan and Conor’s live horns and percussion make this listening experience very real and genuine as it sets the song apart from the ordinary electronic/digitally-produced sounds.
The New York City duo recently dropped their full EP on all platforms and are currently on their headlining tour – The Vibrant Tour – with Kimbra and Pell, with sold out shows in NYC and LA, concluding in Denver on March 9th.
