INTERVIEW: Chris Buck Band

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been great! Spending time in Nashville, writing daily and lovin’ it.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Good Ol’ Days”?

“Good Ol’Days” I feel can relate to anyone! We hope it brings people back and reminds them of some great times!

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Usually I start a song with a song title. Wanted to write about my childhood.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, video drops on Feb 26. And the cool thing about the video is that it has footage of me as a kid in it!

The single comes off your new album All In – what’s the story behind the title?

All In! My friend always said I’ve been a guy to always go in on whatever I put my too (selling my place, car etc) so All In was fitting to say the least.

How was the recording and writing process?

Had a few cooks in the kitchen on this as to production but feel it is the best sounding stuff we have yet! I co-wrote every song which always means a lot to me!

What made you want to go back into your roots?

I really wanted these songs to make people feel stuff! Didn’t just want to only have songs about trucks, beer etc. Wanted to to tell story’s about me.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are covering someone else rather than in your own?

I always have wrote my own stuff. But am open to cutting a great song if I get the chance as long as I can relate.

What role does Canada play in your music?

I’m proud to be Canadian and think it’s great our government supports the arts the way it does!

What aspect of your life did you get to explore on this record?

Just from spending months a year in Nashville I’ve really wanted to grow as a writer and I’ve learnt the importance of telling a story.

Where else did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

Inspiration is a funny thing to me because it comes from everywhere! The mood I’m in, hearing other people’s stories or just seeing a great song title in a card section.

Any plans to hit the road?

Always! I still feel a big part of our fan bass is from smaller towns. They’re with you for life!

What else is happening next in Chris Buck Band’s world?

Great question! Well I’m engaged and loving it and interesting to me how much people love hearing about it. Love is always a great story to tell and share! I find people always can relate.
