Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Missing You”?

Missing You is about a relationship that was good but then it turned to disaster but you don’t recognize it. You just get left for no good reason and you feel like you can’t get up but then you find your strength and say i don’t need you anymore.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

This song was particularly about someone who i thought was good but turned out to be a horrible person.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

I am definitely trying to work on something to get a video out for it!

How was the recording and writing process?

Very stressful but yet so easy. I had the best team of people around me trying to help. Recording was amazing and i really wish i could go back and do it all over again. Nothing’s like doing the one thing you’ve wished for your whole life.

What role does Reno play in your music?

Reno doesn’t have anything to do with my music and that might seem offensive but i truly don’t see me living in Reno when I’m older so i don’t necessarily see me ever writing a song about Reno.

How Dua Lipa and Halsey has influence your writing?

Halsey and Dua Lipa have a huge influence on my music cause when i listen to theres i get the same vibe that i try to put off in my music. Halsey and Dua Lipa also have such great unique voices, also they are just clean with there songs. It just shows how much they love music and how they actually care about what they put out for the world to see.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I’ve been talking to people trying to do more music, and try new material I guess everyone will just have to wait and see.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Sometime at the end of 2019, or 2020.

Any plans to hit the road?

I would love to hit the road and travel all over the world doing what i love most, and that is something i look forward to do someday!!!

What else is happening next in Kionni’s world?

In my world there is a lot of chaos and beauty all over but I’m excited to see what happens in the next few years. I truly just want to be an inspiring artist that people can connect with and vibe too. I can’t wait to meet all the amazing people that support me.
