A generational singer-songwriter talent, Ashe begins 2019 with her best foot forward on “Moral Of The Story”, a meditation on moving beyond heartache that spotlights her intricate lyricism and effortlessly enthralling vocals. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the single features a lyrical contribution from burgeoning star Billie Eilish and executive production courtesy of Eilish’s go-to collaborator, Finneas O’Connell. It also marks the first taste of an exciting year ahead for Ashe as she prepares her highly anticipated Moral Of The Story, a two-part musical tell all, alongside a sprawling tour in support of Quinn XCII (all dates below).
On the topic of “Moral Of The Story”, Ashes explains, “This time a year ago I was dreading the arrival of Valentine’s Day knowing my marriage was on the verge of collapse. Months later than I should have, I moved out of my house, filed for divorce and left for tour. Faced with a broken relationship and no immediate answers to as to why we failed, writing ‘Moral Of The Story’ became my way of making sense of it all.” It’s a subject that she’s sure to explore more throughout the coming months.
Ashe has established an incredible track record throughout the beginning of her solo career, mostly recently tapped as one of Amazon’s 2019 Artists To Watch which echos the critical acclaim she’s received from Nylon, MTV TRL, Billboard, Milk.xyz, and more essential tastemakers. On the live circuit, she’s won over audiences with the likes of Hobo Johnson, Lewis Capaldi, Louis The Child, Whethan, and LAUV, not to mention a performance on Last Call with Carson Daly. An ever-growing fanbase has thus gravitated toward her music, as seen by over 13 million streams on her debut The Rabbit Hole EP, repeated appearances on Spotify’s Global Viral 50, and nine HypeM #1 slots in a row. That all goes without highlighting Ashe’s extensive success as a collaborative artist as she co-wrote Demi Lovato’s hit single, “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore”, and has worked with electronic mainstays like Louis The Child, Big Gigantic, Shaun Frank, and Party Pupils.
