Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We’ve been good, thanks for asking. And thanks for having us!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Bugs”?
It’s our third single in support of our upcoming debut LP. It’s definitely our most psychedelic and experimental song yet, and we always want to move further in that direction.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
Testing out an organ sound that ended up inspiring the whole sonic feel of the song. We recorded the drums at Kazim’s fancy studio, and then tracked guitar and vocals in our house.
What role does West Philly play in your music?
We love playing shows out here. This month we did about a show a week, which is a decent pace, but we definitely want to start doing more.
How have Pink Floyd and Radiohead influenced your writing?
We all love Pink Floyd and Aaron really loves Radiohead, but in general we just love bands that combine catchy, ear-worm melodies with experimental and avant-garde elements. And Pink Floyd and Radiohead are two great examples of that.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yep, we have an album in the works and it’s so much fun making it. We have so many songs so the only hard part is choosing which ones will actually make it to the final cut. But it’s coming along really well.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Too early for details, but we can assure you it’ll have been worth the wait.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, we’d love to do a tour this year. We’re working hard to make that happen.
What else is happening next in NEMATODE’s world?
After we release our debut LP and hit the road to support it, we have a couple EPs coming out that we’re really excited for. Some of our weirdest sounds will be on these EPs.
Hi B, welcome to VENTS! How have you been? Pretty good thanks, taking care of …
