Hot on the heals of releasing their single ‘Stronger ’in January, London indie quartet Hot Dreams continue apace with the release of their brand new single ‘California’. Released through GMR on February 15th, ‘California’ is a slice of hazy sun-drenched indie.
Hot Dreams are building to be one to watch in 2019. Radio 1’s Annie Mac highlighted the band as one of her New Names, Jack Saunders premiered ‘Stronger’on his show as his New Wave while further airplay has included support from BBC London Introducing, Radio X and Amazing Radio. ‘California’ is the second single to drop from their forthcoming debut EP, which will be released in the spring.
Speaking about ‘California’ the band explains, “’California’ is about growing up and moving on. It’s a simple yet heartfelt letter about breaking up and realising the value in independence.”
Earlier this week they released a live acoustic version of their previous single ‘Stronger’ filmed in Kingussie, Scotland. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnCMvxqIqDc
Speaking about the recording they explain, “Last year we spent a week writing and recording in Kingussie, Scotland. We had planned to shoot an acoustic version of Stronger since we’d written the song and Kingussie felt like the perfect place for it. We brought our friend Ben along to shoot a one take video up on our favourite spot over the river Spey.”
