PREMIERE: Fleurt Releases New Music Video For “Favourite Emotion”

Fleurt has been releasing a video to accompany each of the singles off of her upcoming EP for the past few months, each filmed in a different city. The videos are personal with a retro home movie feeling and act as an intimate digital diary of her travels through South America and Europe. Today’s premiere for the “Favorite Emotion” visual was filmed on her recent visit to London and features quirky, fun vignettes of the trip through the eyes of the artist. Fleurt’s project is unabashedly and proudly “girly, unpretentious and fun.” She is very inspired by 80s pop music and lyrically focuses on themes of loneliness, boy-craziness and the existential dread.

About the video, she comments:

“Making the video in London was a perfect fit in my opinion because the city is so beautiful and has such an old history that it really captured the bittersweet nostalgic feeling of the song. Plus I love the way the editing really made it feel like a home movie, because that’s the warm and happy feeling I felt when I was filming it.”

Fleurt was created in the winter of 2018 by Queens’ own Alessandra Licul. Alessandra was frustrated working within the oversaturated sad boi Brooklyn band scene and wanted to shift gears to focus on a solo project with the goal of embracing and reveling within feminine themes and imagery. Her project fully luxuriates within its own girliness and discusses themes she never felt comfortable singing or writing about in an ensemble of boys. Her debut single “Talk Me Down” accrued over 10,000 plays on Spotify within its first week and has received praise from outlets like Earmilk, The Opal Club and Euphorazine. Currently she is traveling through Europe working on her upcoming EP “You Up?” slated for release this Spring.
