Paria crafts dreamy bedroom-pop with stratospheric soul on ‘Disappear’

Paria draws from a deep well of sonic references to create a lane of Scandi-pop which is entirely her own. Her fusion of Iranian, Latin and UK-urban influences results in a unique musical identity that experiments stylistically from one track to another and musters a feeling of creative freedom which is enhanced by her choice to self-produce.

Disappear’ opens with Paria’s standout voice, accompanied only by warm keys and needing no more to make an impactful introduction. The minimalistic opening is a reminder of just how well she crafts melody. She adds layer by layer of instrumentation which builds into a rich and dreamy sonic landscape, dripping in soul – her undeniably modern production takes the track to stratospheric heights.

Paria reveals the story behind ‘Disappear’:

“I’ve been in a phase of struggling to find my musical style and aesthetic, so the process of making music has felt frustrating at times. I want to be able to write something pure without any external noise or internal worry. That was my new year’s resolution – to stop overthinking things and make music that comes right from my heart without polishing, because sometimes imperfection is what makes people feel and relate when listening to your art. ‘Disappear’ is a step towards that resolution. I had goose-bumps the entire time I was writing it and I really hope that it makes people feel something.”
